Seabree's Forum had a St. Patrick's Day 2006 challenge, to build a pub *etc*.. I didn't feel like doing the gameplay part of the challenge, but I used the idea as an excuse to build a sim version of The Harbour Bar, once again.. I've built it before, but this time it's better than ever before, because Open For Business EP brought stuff that was very useful for this.. I couldn't have a pub without almost familiar staff - so, meet Des, Paul, Colin and Paul Jnr - O'Sim. (No, they're NOT O'Tooles!!! So, wipe that grin off your face, if you think you know my sims..

The front of the pub.. (Now, for those of you who know The Harbour Bar in Bray.. I'd like to remind that as much as I'd love to spend ages to create a virtual version almost religiously, in this case, I decided to make the pub playable, which means I had to be flexible with space.. Also, rather than finding the closest possible match to wall textures *etc*, I've gone more for the general feel of the Harbour Bar.. But then again, my virtual pub is NOT the Harbour Bar, it's O'Sim's Pub.. LOL)

And those of you who have never been to The Harbour Bar, why not check it out the next time you're in Bray! You can compare it to O'Sim's Pub.. LOL ... The address:

(Take the DART - local train - to Bray, and the pub is within walking distance from Bray DART Station.. Ask anyone for directions, everyone local will know where it is..)

Starting from the front of the pub, going clockwise: the red shelter is for the smokers, since you can't smoke in the Irish pubs anymore.. then there's the old bar, the snug, and the lobby.. and finally the conservatory, which is kind of a part of the lobby..

The same from another angle.. (In Pleasantview, O'Sim's Pub's surroundings are different from the Harbour Bar's surroundings as well..)

There is actually an old stained glass window in the Harbour Bar as well - it's originally from Dalkey, and it's less colourful than this one..
If this was the Harbour Bar, the table on the left would be the table of an old Singer sewing machine - with the pedal still attached! So, you can get some pedalling exercise while drinking your pint..
